Hi, I’m Lee Abbamonte. I've been to every country in the world plus the North and South Poles, and I'm a long-time Allianz Travel Insurance ambassador. People always ask me for tips and ticks to make travel easier, so today I'm going to show you one of my new favorite tools, the Allyz TravelSmart app. Allyz is a new app from Allianz Travel Insurance, who have been my go-to for years. Allyz is the only way to get the absolute most out of Allianz Travel Insurance plans, but the app isn't just about insurance. It has something for everyone. Here's how to make the most of it.

First things first, log in. If you already have an account with Allianz Travel Insurance, you're good to go. If not, you'll need to create one. If you have an insurance plan, you'll want to use the same email address that you used to purchase it. Once you're logged in, you'll be able to access that plan right from your home screen. That's where you'll find your details and benefits. Next, the app needs to know where you are so it can send you alerts, contact local emergency services, and find hospitals. You'll also want to enable notifications to make sure the app can keep you informed on the go. Allyz will send you push notifications about things that could have an impact on your trip like road closures, strikes, and major weather events. To make the most of this feature, create a trip with your dates and destinations. That way, you'll get a heads up before you arrive at your destination. When you create a trip, you can also add flight info so you can track your flights, get notifications about delays, and more. I once had a trip to Brazil canceled because the airport was closed due to political strife while I was already on the plane, ready to go from Miami. Luckily, Allianz helped me recoup my non-refundable costs, but it sure would have been nice to know about the situation in Brazil before it messed up my travel plans.
